This workshop will help teachers navigate the tricky waters of power dynamics in the classroom. As teachers we cannot stay willfully ignorant to the fact that many factors relating to power affect not only ourselves, but also the way we teach, and how our life experiences form our pedagogy. We hope that through active learning, teachers can walk away with a better understanding of themselves, their students, and ways in which to teach in a socially just classroom simply by keeping power in mind.
This is meant for K-12 but also for union members looking for equity and inclusion for themselves.
