Session C-Inspired Learning: Creative and Critical Thinking Methods for the Classroom

An experiential workshop on creative and critical thinking methods that can be applied to a range of subjects and learning activities

Goals
• Understand why creative/critical thinking is so important today at in school, work and communities
• Explore the difference between creative thinking and critical thinking and the situations where they can be applied together or separately
• Learn 10 specific methods and 20+ practical ways to apply them. Includes classic techniques as well as how to use nature for ideation, creation and problem solving
• Practice using the methods on real challenges and opportunities identified by participants, learn together and share as a community of educators.

Leave with
• A collection of practical and flexible methods and several options to apply them with students (handouts)
• Processes for using the techniques to promote collaborative and inclusive learning
• Ideas for applying them for oneself or with other educators for own challenges
